Entre os destaques da noite estão Justin Timberlake, que ganhou na categoria Música do Ano, com “Can’t Stop the Feeling”. O prêmio de Artista Feminina foi para Adele, enquanto Justin Bieber foi eleito Artista Masculino do ano.
O The Chainsmokers venceu na categoria Artista Revelação do Ano, além de também garantir troféus de Artista Dançante, Artista Revelação de Pop e ter a faixa “Closer”, em parceria com Halsey, eleita como Música Dançante do Ano.
A premiação contou com apresentações de Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars e Shawn Mandes. O Coldplay se juntou ao The Chainsmokers para fazer uma performance.
Bruno Mars foi homenageado e recebeu o prêmio iHeartRadio Innovator, por sua importância na indústria fonográfica.
