Até pouco tempo atrás chamados “For The Win”, Make me King é uma banda britânica de pop punk formada em maio de 2008, quando Sean Marshal (vocal), Jack Mason (guitarra-solo), Lewis Clark (baixo), Joey Hepburn (guitarra) e Daniel Quinn (bateria) se reuniram para escrever músicas, a química foi instantânea e escrever músicas se tornou fácil, acorreu tudo muito rápido, com a mentalidade de “apenas amigos fazendo música”.
Make Me King é cativante e os caras mandam muito bem no que fazem. Agora, pense em uma performance energética e a multidão chegando, eles sabem como cativar o público, e segundo eles sempre podemos tê-los para um chá, ingleses legítimos.

1. Quando e onde a banda começou e quem teve a ideia?
Nós todos estudávamos juntos e decidimos que seria uma boa ideia formar uma banda já que nós gostávamos do mesmo tipo de música.
2.Assim como outras bandas, vocês já fizeram dezenas de shows. Qual foi o melhor show e onde foi?
Nós já fizemos vários shows e dividimos o palco com várias bandas incríveis, mas o nosso favorito foi quando tocamos numa festa na cozinha da casa de um de nós, a atmosfera e a sensação foi realment ótimo.
3. Sobre a relação com internet, download essas coisas,vocês acreditam que isso atrapalha a banda ou ajudam? Vocês são a favor ou contra o download gratuito de músicas?
Eu acho que a liberdade de poder comprar e fazer download de músicas através da Internet é algo excelente para a música, uma vez que permite ao cliente a possibilidade de ouvir uma música sem ter que ir à loja para comprá-lo. Como nós também achamos que artista deveria ser pago pelo seu trabalho. Nós achamos que a música é mais sobre as pessoas que ouvem a nossa música e que gostam dela, do que uma forma de fazer dinheiro.
4. Todas as bandas tem suas influências, isso é óbvio. Nós gostaríamos de saber quais as influências da banda, e o que vocês tem escutado ultimamente.
Nós ouvimos diferentes gêneros de música para nos inspirarmos, mas as principais são bandas da cena punk/pop punk inglesa como You Me At Six, Kids in Glass Houses, The Blackout e We Are the Ocean, entre outros como All Time Low, Paramore, Head Automática e Fall Out Boy.

7.Como vocês descreveriam a cena independente atual?
Melhor que nunca, websites como MySpace possibilitam bandas menores serem mais acessíveis as pessoas, recebendo assim a atenção que elas merecem.
8. A Nação da Música apoia muitas bandas da cena underground e independente e grande parte delas são recentes. Alguma dica para dar a essas bandas?
Ensaiem, ensaiem e ensaiem. Quanto mais esforço vocês colocam na música, melhor ela fica.

1.Where/When the band started and who had the idea?
We all went to college together and decided it would be a good idea to form a band as we were all into similar kinda music.
2.Like some other bands, you already did a lot of gigs. Which was the best gig, and where?
We have played many shows and shared the stage with many great bands, but our favourite gig ever has to be the gig we played at a house party once in someones kitchen. the atmosphere and feeling was amazing.
3.About the “connection” with internet, download and all those things…do you believe that this can help the band, or hinder? Are you in favor or against the “free download” of songs?
I think giving the freedom to be able to buy and download songs over the internet is an excellent thing for music as it allows the customer to be able to listen to a song without having to go to the shop to buy it. as much as we do think artist should be paid for their work, we think music is more about people listening to our music and liking it as opposed to being a way of making money.
4.All the bands have their references, this is obvious. We’d like to know who’re an influence for the band, and what you guys are listening currently.
We listen to all different genres of music to get inspiration from, but our main influences are the bands from the UK punk/pop rock scene like You Me At Six, Kids in Glass Houses, The Blackout and We Are the Ocean. Other influences include the likes of All Time Low, Paramore, Head Automatica, Fall out Boy.

Better than its ever been. websites like myspace enable smaller bands to be more accessible to more people getting the attention they deserve :)
8.Nação da Música supports a lot of “underground and independent bands”, most of them started recently. Any tips to give to these bands?!
Practice, practice, practice. the more effort you put into your music the better it will sound.
